Ti-se Guest House welcomes you to Nepal and to the town of Boudhanath. Whatever the reason and how long the journey is, we hope to make your stay here as pleasant and enjoyable as possible.
Ti-se is run by a family and managed under a distinct Tibetan-Nepali hospitality and modern amenities. We have been based in the valley of Kathmandu for a long time, and because of this, we are well attuned to the town of Boudhanath and to the capital city. All of this translates into an effective service and informed guide for the world travelers that wants to know where the best shopping areas, retreat centers or restaurants are.
Ti-se is pronounced as "tee-say" and refers to the native name of Mount Kailash in Tibet. Mount Kailash is the most sacred of mountains to Buddhists, Hindus, Bonpos and Jains as well. Tibetan Buddhists believe the peak is the sacred site of Demchog and his consort Dorje Phangmo. Hindus believe it as abode of Lord Shiva and Parvati and myth logically it is considered as the embodiment of Mt. Meru, the invisible center of the earth.
Namaste and Tashi Delek!
